Laura had a ritual.
Every morning, same shelf. Same order. Same routine. The little transparent jar always in the same spot upright, lid facing up. She had been doing it for a year without thinking twice.
That Tuesday morning, she was running late.
In a rush, she grabbed the jar and knocked it over. It rolled slowly across the table and stopped, base facing up, like it was trying to tell her something.
Laura almost set it back the right way without looking.
But something caught her eye.
A small blue circle. Perfectly centered on the bottom of the jar. As if it had always been there, waiting patiently for this exact moment.
“TAG AND DISCOVER THE PRODUCT”
She frowned. A year. She had been using this jar for a year and had never once turned it over.
Curious, she held her phone to the base.
One second.
Just one second.
And her screen came alive.

The full story of the jar appeared before her. That it was made of PET , not conventional plastic , chosen deliberately lighter packaging designed to reduce environmental impact while helping brands deliver a more responsible product experience. Reducing packaging weight by up to 20%, enabling more efficient transport and lower environmental impact. That the formula inside had taken two years to develop. That the brand was run by a small team who obsessed over every detail, including where to place a tiny NFC chip.
She scrolled further.
There was a refill option. She could keep the jar, this exact jar she had used every single morning for a year and simply refill it. No waste. No throwing away something that had become, without her realising, a small part of her routine.
Laura sat down on the edge of the bath.
She wasn’t in a rush anymore.
“I’ve been holding this every day,” she thought, “and I never really knew what I was holding.”
She ordered the refill before she left the house.
Not because it was cheaper. Not because it was more sustainable, though it was. But because something had shifted. The brand had gone from a name on a jar to a voice she recognised. A story she was now part of.
That morning, the jar had fallen over.
And for the first time, Laura had actually seen it.
At FACA, we deliberately design lighter solutions too that reduce material usage while maintaining performance and aesthetics. By reducing packaging weight, we help optimize logistics, lower transport impact, and improve overall efficiency.
At the same time, our approach enables brands to communicate a more responsible product experience.
From now on, selected samples will also include NFC labels, providing seamless access to extended digital product information and enhancing the overall client experience.
